Carmageddon is a violent deconstruction of the car racing genre. Inspired by films Mad Max and Death Race 2000, it puts the player behind the steering wheel of a racing car in a futuristic dystopian competition of mayhem an destruction.
Points and credits are awarded in this race for crashing into other cars, running over pedestrians and other unlawful acts. Drivers are encouraged to freely explore the environment, looking for bonuses and other unusual ways of earning points. None of this is supposed to be taken seriously though, acting instead as a black comedy of sorts, intended to vent off some steam, especially if "serious" racing games get too frustrating for you.
The playable demo includes one time-limited race on a single track. Note that earning bonus points will increase the timer shown at the top of the screen, but there is a global time limit of several minutes, after which the demo will end. You'll still have time to freely explore the level.
