Escape from Planet X is an action/adventure hybrid with a somewhat odd premise. The story tells that the main character has been abducted by hostile aliens to be experimented upon, but the aliens' base looks very much like a Nazi concentration camp. Your first concern is to obtain a proper weapon and keys to facilitate your escape.

The game world is presented in an isometric perspective, but with a limited view depth, obscuring walls and objects that are farther away. Conversely, when the character comes closer to the screen, he may get partially obscured by a nearby wall as well. While not a direct obstacle to playing, this might need a little getting used to.

The unregistered shareware version contains roughly half of the full game's 15 levels.
