The Terminator: Future Shock is Bethesda's Softworks' fully 3D first-person Terminator game. Using the then-revolutionary XnGine, this game was ahead of its time in many ways, and while it never achieved the same popularity as Quake, it remains an influential milestone in the genre's history, pioneering mouselook and certain other features at the time when many still played DOOM using the arrow keys.

Unlike The Terminator: Rampage, there is no time-travel plot here, and the player character is a prisoner of a SkyNet camp who escapes and joins the Resistance, receiving orders directly from John Connor himself. The game takes full advantage of the 3D engine's capabilities to portray eerily realistic post-apoclyptic landscapes filled with hostile robots, while offering never-before seen attractions like driving a fully 3D jeep with a laser gun or piloting a Hunter-Seeker.

The playable demo version includes one level from the full game, split into three segments that may be played in any order. An earlier pre-release demo is also available, with many notable differences but generally the same level.
