Spelbeschrijving
This is a computer adaptation of the board game of the same name, which in turn is a Mancala variant. Each player starts with six stacks of six coins/tokens and take turns to "seed" a selected stack so that one coin is placed in each adjacent stack, counter-clockwise, until all coins are spent. Players may place coins in their own and the opponent's stacks, but also only in the "kalakh" (storehouse) on their right-hand side. The first player to get 36 or more coins in the kalakh wins.
There are two more rules to this. If the last coin from the chosen stack lands in the kalakh, the player gets an extra turn. To clarify, the player places coins from the left to the right in their own stack, then in the kalakh, and then from the right to the left in the opponents stacks, but never in their kalakh. The game does this automatically, you need to only select the stack that you want to seed. The second rule is that if the last coin lands in an empty stack on the player's side, any coins in the directly opposing stack of the other player are "captured" and added to the player's kalakh.
Kalakh offers four difficulty levels with some nice space and also vaguely Star Wars-themed backgrounds. There is also a hint system that will suggest you what move to make next, which is good for beginners. The game was released as freeware, and a Windows 3.x version also exists.
