Spelbeschrijving

Megaboulder is an antique Boulder Dash clone PC that came out in the same decade as the original Commodore 64 game. It is also quite unforgiving: you need to guide your guy around levels collecting diamonds, and when you have enough, an exit will appear somewhere and you need to reach it before the timer reaches zero. The second level also introduces monsters that insta-kill the player character even if simply running by them, which can only be dealt with by dropping a boulder on them.

The game only runs on very slow computers, and even in DOSBox you need to crank CPU cycles down to get it working properly, in spite of the speed settings in the main menu.

Megaboulder was marketed as shareware, with the registered version promising scrolling levels lager than one screen. It is also entirely in German, but knowledge of the language isn't really required to play. Because of its difficulty, I can only recommend this to hardcore Boulder Dash fans.
