Extreme Volleyball Infernal League (or EVIL for short) is a sports-themed arcade game that combines the basics of Arcade Volleyball with the tournament mode obviously modelled after Mortal Kombat. Pick your character and beat even more challenging opponents until you reach the top and defeat a demon for some reason. Another game mode called Rogueball offers non-linear gameplay, treasure and more.
During a match, each player has a "life bar" that gets reduced every time the ball lands on their side of the net. Completely depleting the opponent' bar means victory for the other side. To spice things up, there are also random powerups that appear during play and can be picked up to gain an advantage or slow down the opponent.
Extreme Volleyball Infernal League offers delightfully stylised visuals that will remind you of the 8-bit era in gaming. It is available for purchase for DOS, Windows and Sega Master System. The free demo contains just a part of the full version's content.
